The 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards took place last night and serious history was made in the outstanding actress categories. Congratulations to Regina King, Uzo Aduba and Viola Davis for really shining in their crafts, for the history of women and most importantly for African American women in television. All three deserved to win an Emmy. Follow me on Instagram for details: @yannid125
Now onto the red carpet…
Was it the best red carpet? No. Was it the worst? Definitely not. There were some highs and lows so here is a round up of it all.
Glitz and Glam Ladies

Christina Hendricks stunned in this elegant Naeem Khan gown.

Jamie Alexander took my breathe away in this classic Armani Prive gown. I also loved the styling from her slicked back hair to her simple makeup. Gorgeous!

Of course with the Scandal premiere just days away my girl Kerry Washington hit the red carpet in a dress of armor by Marc Jacobs. This dress gave us all the glitz and glam we needed and she looked fierce in it. Loved this!

Sofia Vergara gave us classic and sexy in a St. John gown.

Taraji P. Henson oozed sexy glam on the carpet in custom Alexander Wang. The gorgeous actress kept things tasteful from head to toe in this black ensemble. Her hair was EVERYTHING!

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, another winner for the night, looked elegant in a Safiyaa gown.
Red Hues
Sarah Hyland is always a best dressed for me on the red carpet and last night was no different. The actress looked sleek and pretty in Zac Posen.
Lady in red for the night, Laura Prepon, took things up a notch in this Christian Siriano gown.

Modern Family actress, Ariel Winter always looks stunning in red and this year was no exception. This Romona Keveza gown fit her to perfection.
On the lighter Side Hues
Emma Roberts looked effortless in this custom Jenny Packham gown.

Gina Rodriquez definitely took the cake for the hottest “virgin” of the night. The “Jane the Virgin” star was radiant in a Lorena Sarbu gown. When I first saw this look I instantly thought she looked like a beautiful bride. No shade in that comment I really liked this on her. Gorgeous!

Regina King, a winner for the night, kept things dazzling in her Krikor Jabotian gown. I honestly did not love this look on her, but overall she looked beautiful and had a well deserved night. So happy for her!

Danielle Brooks was all about color for the night in this Christian Sirano gown.

Congrats to Uzo Aduba for her win as Crazy Eyes in “Orange is the New Black”. The actress wore a Jonathan Cohen gown.

The gorgeous Tracee Ellis Ross kept it pink in a Zac Posen gown. Zac had a lot of hits on the carpet last night, but I have to say I was not crazy about this one. However, I do feel that this beauty really could wear anything and look amazing.
Taylor Schilling kept it simple and pretty in this Stella McCartney gown. I love that she added a pop of red to this with her lip choice.

Laverne kept things effortless and sleek in this Calvin Klein gown.
There we have it! Who had your best look of the night?

September 21, 2015 at 3:13 pm (9 years ago)I love when you do recaps. I learn new designer names each time. Okay… Tracee Ellis Ross! You hit the nail right on the head with your comment. She can wear anything. (THANK GOD) I just don’t get the direction Mr. Posen was going in when he designed that dress. I know you look at fashion from all angles so I thought maybe there was more of an abstract view point of the dress, or not?

September 21, 2015 at 10:12 pm (9 years ago)haha I am with you. I am very confused on the direction. Sarah Hyland also wore Zac and it was his classic beautiful silhouette. So I am not sure what they both were doing with that choice.
