A few weeks back we discussed costume designer collaborations with fashion retailers (here) and how innovative this approach has been for a few big name shows. As mentioned before, amazing stylist and costume designer for Pretty Little Liars, Mandi Line, collaborated with Aeropostale to make a capsule collection inspired by the show. The collection previewed on January 6 and although sales have not hiked up drastically for the retailer this collaboration has proven to be a great partnership for the brand. There was another roll out on February 6, one for spring season and there will be one for back-to-school.
The collection is truly a great idea for teens and fans of Pretty Little Liars. As a fan of the show myself, I adore Aria Montgomery and Hanna Marin’s styles (played by Lucy Hale and Ashley Benson respectively). The show truly depicts style inspiration for youth today in a positive and fashion forward way. Fashionistas can shop the actual look of any of their four favorite characters – Aria, Hanna, Emily, Spencer and purchase a piece or the whole look. Pretty cool!
