Now that we are a few days into the new year EVERYONE is working towards accomplishing their New Year’s resolutions. Personally, I do not make resolutions at the end of every year I simply set goals for myself year round.
Goals are important because they give us something to work towards and the more we accomplish the more goals we make. We are constantly evolving and I work everyday to become a better version of myself the day before.
Last year really was practice for me. Although I know I accomplished a lot I was still adjusting to not being a grad student anymore, getting back into the corporate fashion world and giving it another round at balancing my freelance life with my corporate life. As mentioned before here, that is no easy task. However, now that I am well adjusted it is time to kick things up a few notches.
Here are some of my main objectives to
improve upon for According to Yanni D as the year progresses:
Be Consistent. As a blogger, I think this is the number one rule that bloggers adhere to. Being consistent not only provides your blog with an archive for future opportunities, but it helps attract loyal readers to your content. This time around I have been extremely consistent with my posts, but with everything going on it is important to remain consistent, keep putting out interesting content with a unique twist and continue to remain authentic to who I am. After all, practice makes perfect!
Increase Brand Exposure. We all know social media is extremely important in this line of work, but it really does take more than a “tweet” here and a “like” there. In this freelance life we wear many hats and with those hats come obligations. Marketing, social media, public relations we do it all, but engagement really is the key. This year I want to increase my presence on my social handles, as well as, optimize exposure through a variety of sites and networks. This also includes dusting off my contributor hat and building more relationships through my writing.
Expand Networking Reach. Most people would call me a connector because networking really is a speciality of mine; however, I aim to do better. I want to focus on expanding my networking reach with fellow bloggers, style enthusiasts and people across different industries to continue to build awareness for my brand. This in turn will help expose me to more opportunities to build up my resume and expand my portfolio.
Enhance photography. Crisp and beautiful pictures really do go a long way. This is an area that I am slowly, but surely improving in. Clearly, doing better here is not even an option it is a MUST.
Continue to Grow. Although I have been in the fashion industry for quite sometime I have only just begun to touch the surface of everything I can accomplish. Continuing to enhance my skills is always my number one priority. As always, I strive to be the best I can be for myself, my clients and work my hardest at taking my brand to the highest level.
What are some of your goals?
