The 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place last night and I must say the red carpet was a lot more interesting than the Golden Globes for me. I was excited for three reasons during the ceremony. 1) Uzo Aduba won Best Actress in a Comedy series for Orange is the New Black. 2) The cast of the show also won for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series and lastly 3) Viola Davis won Best Actress in a Drama Series. How exciting!
Moving along, as mentioned there were some lookers on the red carpet last night so let’s jump in with the looks that caught my attention.
BOLD HUES
Uzo Aduba continues to bring interesting pieces to the carpet. This bright yellow Angel Sanchez gown was no exception. She looked great!
Camila Alves always slays the carpet and last night was no different. This beautiful purple Donna Karan gown was meant for her.
Julianna Margulies went for a bold color in Giambattista Valli. She nailed this.
Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting was simple and sultry in red. The fit on this was exceptional.
BLACK & WHITE HUES
Per her norm, Emma Stone always slays the carpet, but this Dior Haute Couture dress is something I would wear. It is effortless, chic and she looks stunning. A little bit of sheer goes a long way in this case. Best dressed for me.
I adore Sarah Hyland and her custom Vera Wang piece looked gorgeous on her. A vision in crystals and black.
Rosamund Pike looks fabulous in everything she wears. There is something about this dress that I am not crazy about, but I cannot deny that Dior looks darling on her.
Viola Davis usually looks amazing in most colors because her skin is absolutely gorgeous. Last night was no different when she graced the carpet in a custom white Max Mara gown.
Ariel Winter truly turned heads in a white Zac Posen gown. She is all grown up and looking fabulous along the way.
I really liked Dascha Polanco’s look she sizzled in this gown in a classy way.
Reese Witherspoon was a vision in white in this Armani one shoulder gown. It fit her to perfection which really made this dress stand out to me. Lovely!
A MIX OF HUES
If you follow the blog then you already know how much I adore the beautiful Emmy Rossum. The intricate detail on this Armani Privé gown is breathtaking.
Felicity Jones gave chic structure to this blush Balenciaga gown. I loved everything about this on her.
Rashida Jones really caught my eye in this beautiful printed gown by Ungaro.
Lupita Nyong’o gave us watercolor perfection on the carpet in this Elie Saab piece (which was a step up from her ensemble at the Golden Globes). Pretty!
