The Grammy’s are BY far my favorite awards ceremony. It is literally a festival of great music to listen to for 3 1/2 hours. Not only do I not mind watching the awards show, but the red carpet is always fashionably entertaining.
So let’s jump into some looks….
Everyone knows how I feel about my personal fashion icon Rihanna. There is a lot that we can say about this Giambattista Valli gown. Am I crazy about it? Negative, but I stick by what I always say: Rihanna can wear anything. She truly does not care how we feel about it. She fell in love with this dress and wears it with love. What can I really say about that? Respect Rihanna. Respect! The makeup is flawless per her norm.
Her performance and menswear inspired look were dope. She’s everything!
Gwen Stefani always owns the red carpet in everything she wears. This Atelier Versace jumpsuit was perfection on her. Stunning!
Kat Graham showed up and out in a sheer Yanina gown. I thought she looked stunning from head to toe. Although I have to say watching her move on the red carpet really enhanced the look for me as opposed to a still shot, but beautiful no?
Iggy Azalea was feeling blue in an Armani Prive gown. Not my favorite, but it fits her great. The hair on the other hand I definitely was not a fan of.
The queen Mary J. Blige looked beautiful as usual.
I really do not want to hate this look on Ashanti especially because I love Michael Costello, but something about it isn’t working for me. I’m almost positive its the hair. A sleek low ponytail would have done this look so much more justice to me.
Ciara is such a model! Her sleek hair and makeup looked beautiful to me. I love the bottom of her dress, but not the top. Nevertheless, she is wearing this dress.
Tom Ford’s sleekness gets me every time. Jennifer Hudson looked pretty in white, but I’m not crazy about the styling.
Beyonce looked dazzling in Proenza Schouler adorned with her long tresses.
Seriously, the colors in this beautiful Elie Saab gown complimented Taylor Swift. Elie Saab is one of my favorite designers so the dress is perfection in itself. I do wish she would have chosen pink pumps instead of sandals. It would have elevated the look.
I appreciate this toned down curve hugging look from Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell, but again here the styling does not work for me.
I adore Anna Kendrick!
This is definitely not my favorite look of Rita Ora’s, but she looks pretty nonetheless.
Honestly, Nicki Minaj in Tom Ford took the red carpet for me last night. This gown is perfection and the fit on her is impeccable. HOT!
Am I crazy about Kim K in this Jean Paul Gaultier dress? Negative, but per her norm the fit is incredible and she looks flawless. Her hair and makeup is EVERYTHING.
I am well aware that Katy Perry’s Zuhair Murad look was not a favorite, but I thought she looked stunning. I think the look did not capture well in photographs, but in person and on the red carpet it really fit her like a glove and translated well.
Also, Katy’s performance look was perfection and her performance was touching.
There you have it. Who slayed the red carpet?
