The 87th Annual Academy Awards aka The Oscars took place yesterday and per the norm, the red carpet was much anticipated.
Was I blown away? Am I ever these days is a better question.
Were there bad looks? What red carpet would be complete without them? However, there were some looks that were flawless.
Let’s jump into the good, the bad and everything else…
We all know how I feel about Elie Saab so it would make sense that Jennifer Lopez would bless us with her presence on the red carpet wearing one of my favorite designers in the most stunning way. Seriously, she is perfection!
Breathless was the first word that came to mind when I saw Jamie Chung in this starbust vision by Yanina. Amazing no?
I live for Emma Stone on the red carpet because she simply NEVER disappoints me. When I saw this gorgeous chartreuse number, by none other than Elie Saab I did not have an immediate reaction. Crazy I know! The dress is gorgeous and she is gorgeous, but I was not sure how I felt about them together. It took me a few moments to gather my thoughts, but once I digested the look and saw a few photos of it from different angles I came to my senses. Emma really does this dress justice. She was a vision! Not to mention I am obsessed with the color chartreuse even though it does not look good on everyone.
There are a lot of mixed emotions about Zoe in this blush Versace gown, but personally she looks STUNNING. She is giving me a soft romantic vibe here and it is a beautiful thing to see. Not to mention she just had twins and looks fabulous. I would have preferred this dress to be strapless because that would have sold this for me, but otherwise beautiful!
Reese Witherspoon and Tom Ford have the perfect fashion marriage. She is the queen of old hollywood glam in a modern way. Lovely!
Rosamund Pike was the perfect lady in red from head to toe in this beautiful Givenchy gown.
Solange has always been my cool girl friend in my head and once again she illustrated just how cool she is on the red carpet. She is the only beauty who could show up in this high neck two piece by Christian Siriano and ooze effortless perfection. Why is she so cool? Love this on her.
Margot Robbie gave us sultriness times ten in this Saint Laurent gown. Although this would not have necessarily been my first pick for the Oscars, it worked for her. Stunning!
The beautiful Chrissy Teigen opted for ice blue in this gorgeous Zuhair Murad gown. Zuhair Murad gowns are perfection…enough said.
Honestly, this Vera Wang gown was made for Oprah. The fit and styling are EVERYTHING. She really is red carpet glam at its finest.
Scarlett Johansson gave life to this Atelier Versace gown. Love the color!
Kerry Washington went for easy, comfortable and simple in this Miu Miu ensemble. I am a bit underwhelmed with this look, but I do understand that she was going for simple and lovely which is what she accomplished.
Kelly Osbourne looked fantastic in Rita Vinieris.
This Calvin Klein gown in theory is beautiful, but I am not crazy about it and it was not my favorite from Lupita. However, she wore the dress well.
America Ferrera looked effortless and whimsical in this pretty Jenny Packman gown. I really loved this on her. She looked so comfortable and beautiful.
Dakota Johnson looked simple and pretty in Saint Laurent.
Felicity Jones in Alexander McQueen.
Gina Rodriquez in Manon Gabard.
Jennifer Hudson looked pretty in a yellow Romana Keveza gown.
Rita Ora looked stunning in Marchesa. Her performance gown was also very beautiful.
Octavia Spencer looked beautiful in her favorite designer Tadashi Shoji.
To be honest, this is not my favorite look on Viola Davis, but the Zac Posen dress is pretty.
Zendaya ALWAYS slays the red carpet, but this look completely underwhelmed me. I usually love Vivienne Westwood, but this fashion marriage did not work for me.
Who was your best and worst of the night?
