Anyone that knows me, knows how organized I am. That organization applies to every aspect of my life especially when it comes to my closets. For a small bedroom I actually adore my closets. Is it my dream closet? Of course not! Every fashionista DREAMS of her interpretation of a Carrie Bradshaw haven. That means I literally need an extra bedroom to transform. I’m working on that!

In the meantime, Ikea (one of my favorite places) never disappoints me. Do not get me wrong sometimes I have my gripe with them, but its like a dysfunctional relationship because I keep going back. Anyways, I purchased my PAX wardrobe unit from Ikea about 3 1/2 years ago and it has been working for me thus far. I made two closets into one with a few compartments. Up until last year I had rows and rows of shoe boxes which you can imagine was not working for me. I mean there were boxes everywhere. So I decided to get rid of the boxes FINALLY, but then I had the daunting task of adding more shelves to my closet to put the shoes on. The great thing about these “build it yourself” closets is that you can add as many sections as you want. So last week I was able to carve out some time to make those changes. Now my closet is back to being organized (or as organized as it can be since I have not cleaned my room in a while). Either way I am letting you loves into my “wardrobe haven” mess and all.
Here are a few shots of my updated closet. My PAX unit takes up one entire side of my room and I also have an additional built-in closet on the other side.
My closets are organized as follows:
Left closet top and bottom rack respectively – slacks, tops and some sweaters / skirts, shorts and more sweaters (by color family).
Remainder of left closet – 2 rows of shoes
Right closet top shelf and basket respectively – t-shirts, pajamas and extra linen / socks, hosiery and belts
Right closet middle glass shelf and pull out jewelry tray – an assortment of jewelry organized somewhat by color, style and type. I am LEGIT a jewelry whore so now I have way more jewelry than I have space for and I am working on updating that section. No judgement!
Remainder of right closet – 3 rows of shoes
Again, this is not nearly everything (my built-in closet has blazers, sweaters, dresses, jeans, bags and hats), but you get the idea.
