Rent the Runway: Prom Gowns

With prom season rapidly approaching “What to wear” is heavy on the minds of high school seniors. Now when I was in high school, a couple (few) years ago, I knew exactly the kind of dress I wanted and how I was going to get it. I was fortunate enough to design my own dress and have a fantastic designer in the fashion district make it for me. However, before my dream dress was made I had to appease my mother and visit a thousand stores in an attempt to find the perfect dress in-store, but I knew in my heart I wanted a one of a kind original designed by me. It was the perfect night and till this day I still have my dress packed away as a momentum.

Today, high school seniors treat the idea of the perfect dress a lot differently. This realization comes first hand from my younger cousins who care about the dress for the moment and then discard it as if it was never a big deal to begin with. In my opinion, utilizing Rent the Runway would give seniors the perfect opportunity to look glamorous for one night and give the dress back the next day without any issues or concerns. I cannot guarantee that if Rent the Runway was around during my prom that I would rent a dress for the simple fact that my prom dress really was special to me, but I am sure a lot of seniors would have appreciated the option.
