Last week I had the pleasure of attending a launch event for BY KILIAN latest fragrance collection. For those of you who are not familiar with Kilian he is the grandson of the founder of the LVMH group. By Kilian, an eco-luxe perfume brand, launched in October 2007 and is sold at luxury retail stores around the world, as well as, two standalone stores in New York and Moscow.
Freelance fragrance specialist Kim Waters, who happens to be a college friend from my undergrad years, was hosting the event at the New York location so I decided to check it out. Kim did a great job of introducing the collection Addictive State of Mind. The collection featured three scents: Intoxicated, Light My Fire and Smoke for the Soul.
I was able to snap a few photos of the event and everything was beautiful from the ambience to the custom clutches showcased around the store. The tagline “Perfume as an Art” embodied Kilian’s vision perfectly. The beauty of the packaging and the addition of The Jewel of L’Oeuvre Noire collection (perfume necklaces) only enhanced my admiration for the brand.
After sampling each of the three fragrances my favorites would have to be Intoxicated and Light My Fire.
It really was a chic event equipped with cocktails, light appetizers and of course samples. Bravo’s TV Show “Blood, Sweat and Heels” reality stars, Daisy Lewellyn and Mica Hughes, even came out to support. Overall, my friend and I had a great time and we now have a new brand to indulge in.
