Typically during the last few days of the year I lay out my resolutions. A lot of people have issues with New Year’s resolutions and what they really mean, but for me they are truly goals that I want, need and will happen. I like to set realistic goals that are necessary for my future growth in all aspects of my life. Hence why I am all about resolutions, but this year I want to change things up a bit on the blog. Instead of setting fashion resolutions for my career and freelance projects I want to set fashionable resolutions to keep things on the light side. I recently read a magazine (for the life of me I cannot remember if it was Elle, InStyle or Marie Claire) and they had a story on fashionable resolutions. I thought the idea was so cute that I wanted to see what fashionable resolutions my readers wanted to accomplish in the new year.
I will lay mine out below and I encourage you all to share yours with me following the same format. I think this is a great idea because it will help to hold us all accountable when it comes to evolving and owning our personal style.
Read. Think. Write your own.
My fashionable resolutions for 2016 are as follows…
I resolve to invest in more sneakers to add to my wardrobe.
~I love sneakers, but I’ve definitely fallen off with my sneaker game. I just got some great new black on black kicks and I want to continue to build on that this year.
I resolve to UP my print game.
~I love prints and in the past I incorporated them often, but I feel like I fell off my print game in 2015. I really want to experiment and incorporate them more when I can.
I resolve to invest in a great new everyday bag.
~We all know how much I love me a good bag and a luxury one at that, but I actually haven’t treated myself to one in a while. I am picky, need to make sure it will meet all my needs and serve its purpose. I would like to add another one to my closet this year as my new everyday work bag.
I resolve to continue to evolve/experiment with my style.
~I’ve always been a fashionable girl. I embrace fashion and I love to experiment with my style, but this past year I’ve definitely seen a great growth in my style evolution. Even though our style is constantly evolving, I am really loving my aesthetic these days and it can only get better. I want to see that increase and transform in the new year. I like to try things, push boundaries that I’m comfortable with and really create art with what I wear. I hope to do that and more.
Now tell me are you afraid of prints, but always wanted to wear them? Do you wear pants a lot, but want to incorporate more dresses into your wardrobe? Are you a flats girl, but would love to rock heels more? Is it time for you to invest in more statement and transitional pieces this year? Tell me your fashion resolutions for 2016 and let’s all aim to accomplish them. After all, style is owning your individuality and the only way to do that is to be YOU.
I hope everyone has a safe and prosperous New Year! See you in 2016 🙂
